2 Bucktown Eateries Shutter Their Doors

Melt Sandwich Shoppe and Sacco Bruno have closed in the past week.

Two Bucktown food spots closed their doors in the past week.

According to an Eater.com report, Sacco Bruno, an Italian market and deli at 2151 W. Armitage Ave., closed up shop on Oct. 31. Eater also reported that on Nov. 1 Melt Sandwich Shoppe, 1840 N. Damen Ave., was no more.

A message on Sacco Bruno's voice mail claimed the market was forced out of business by its landlord, and that the owners are currently looking for a new location, according to the story. The restaurant's catering menu is still available and orders can be placed by calling 773-278-8028 and following the instructions.

Melt owner Dion Antic told Eater he sold the business so he could focus on his consulting company, ReBrand. Melt was open for slightly more than one year, having debuted in October 2011. Misung Jang purchased the business in a deal brokered by the Kudan Group, and is hoping for a January opening of a new Korean/Japanese concept called Enhakkore in the space, according to Eater.
