Stray Dogs Attack Northwest Side Pets

A pair of stray pitbulls, described as extremely thin and hungry-looking, have been linked to a series of attacks on animals on the city's Northwest Side.

A pair of loose pitbulls roaming the streets of several neighborhoods on the city's Northwest Side have been linked to attacks on animals and residents.

Victims have been reported in the Wicker Park, East Village, and Ukrainian Village neighborhoods, according to a Huffington Post report. The dogs recently charged a woman near Smith Park, who defended herself using mace, according to the story. They have also reportedly killed a cat and injured a smaller dog named Hero, biting his neck and hindquarters, according to an NBC Chicago report.

An alert on the Bucktown-Wicker Park Insider's Guide describes the dogs as very thin and predominantly white with some brown markings. People with children and small pets are urged to be particularly cautious outdoors.
