A new Wicker Park hot dog joint graced local air waves Tuesday, as a Chicago reporter stepped in to taste some of the business' fancy creations.
WGN News reporter Marcus Leshock stopped by The Haute & The Dog, 1252 N. Damen Ave., and sampled the green chili mac 'n cheese dog. The BYOB cash-only restaurant opened its doors Jan. 23, according to the Wicker Park Bucktown Insider's Guide.
At the helm of the venture is restaurateur Dion Antic, who was also responsible for Bagel On Damen. That stark eatery shuttered its doors last year. Antic told Eater, at the time, that he was busy transforming the space into "a fun little hot dog stand with gourmet sausages and hand-cut fries."
Far from your standard Chicago dog, Antic's creations are topped with everything from pulled pork to homemade chili, Eater reports.
