Are you looking for a "furever" friend? Perhaps Coke is the right dog for you. The 3-year-old is house trained, affectionate and full of energy. She's at the PAWS Chicago Adoption Center in Lincoln Park. Watch the accompanying video to get a glimpse of he
Coke is a sweet and loveable Shepherd-Border Collie mix who became homeless in May when her guardians could no longer care for her.
Thankfully, the 3-year-old came to PAWS Chicago Adoption Center in Lincoln Park, where pets are guaranteed a second chance. This energetic girl can’t wait to find her forever home with a loving family.
Coke has big brown eyes and a pretty splash of white fur along her chest and the tips of her toes. Her favorite things in life are chasing squirrels, riding in the car, swimming at the dog beach, and cuddling up for a head scratch and nap with her favorite humans.
Because Coke grew up with a family, she is accustomed to living in a home environment and is already crate-trained and house-trained. She is also compatible with a lot of other dogs.
This athletic pooch enjoys games of fetch and also makes a nice running buddy. She already knows some basic commands like “sit”, “stay”, “down”, and “paw." She will work hard to earn peanut butter treats!
Because Coke can be reactive on leash, her ideal home would be with experienced adult dog-lovers who will enroll in obedience class to improve her manners outside. Coke would also love a fenced-in yard to play in, or a very quiet neighborhood in which to take walks and work on training.
Although she is 67 pounds, Coke thinks that she is a lap dog and loves to give kisses. She also enjoys being brushed which keeps her thick black coat looking shiny. If you have a big heart and a quiet home, Coke could be the perfect dog for you. Stop by to meet this beauty and get ready to fall in love.
Will you give her a chance?
