New Einsteins Academy Celebrates Earth Day

On Tuesday, April 22nd the young environmentalists from New Einsteins Academy in Bucktown joined by their parents, marched in NEA‘s annual Earth Day parade and cheerfully sang “Happy Earth Day To One”.

Here at New Einsteins, being eco-friendly is taken seriously. Just because preschoolers are small doesn't mean they can't make a difference.  When it comes to helping our Earth stay  healthy, little steps can lead to big changes!

Just like any other week at New Einsteins, the Earth Week was filled with art projects using many recycled materials including newspaper garden collages, toilet paper roll maracas, milk caps necklaces, and impressive building structures made out of recycled boxes.

With the spring coming to Chicago in full bloom the children of NEA cared for the local birds by making bird feeders out of recycled bottles and hanging them around the neighborhood.

Observing the process of decomposition in the classroom’s science corner helped the kids understand the importance of composting, and the experiments with the polluted water brought awareness of the need to preserve and protect this very important natural resource.
