Presence Saint Joseph Hospital Honors American Cancer Society with the Inspire Award for Exceptional Community Service
Presence Saint Joseph Hospital recently honored the American Cancer Society with the Inspire Award for community service. Accepting the award on behalf of the American Cancer Society was Nancy Yaw, executive vice president of the American Cancer Society and chief operating officer of the American Cancer Society’s Great Lakes Division, Inc. More than 60 business leaders, school administrators, community leaders, physicians, cancer care clinicians and cancer survivors attended the event, which was held at the hospital’s Boikan Auditorium the evening of March 11, 2014.
The Inspire Award is presented annually to a community organization or leader who exemplifies the values that inspire the hospital’s community outreach. It also recognizes inspirational leadership that advances the well-being of the community.
“The community service provided by the American Cancer Society is truly inspirational,” said Roberta Luskin-Hawk, M.D., president and CEO of Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago and Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston. “They are doing everything they can to enrich the lives of so many living and dealing with cancer, and we are proud to recognize their work.”
