The officials behind the redevelopment of Lathrop Homes are showing off their hard work, revealing a bird’s-eye view of what they have in mind for massive project.

The Lathrop Community Partners—a five-part design team behind the project—submitted plans with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development detailing just 1,208 units at Lathrop.

But now the latest documents show additional features will be introduced, including bike lanes, new retail buildings down Schubert Avenue and a new park along the Chicago River to attract the public. That’s in addition to a beefed-up median on Diversey Parkway for pedestrians and new buildings framing the Diversey, Damen and Clybourn intersection.

Other details, released Monday, include the Lathrop Community Partners’ plans for 780 new parking spaces at the 32-acre development.

A public meeting has been scheduled to review details with residents and to gather feedback. It’s scheduled for July 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the New Life Community Church, located at 2958 N. Damen Ave.
