The
CYC Mackinac Master Mariner’s Trophy, presented to the Island Goats Sailing
Society in 2002 by the crews of Richard D (“Dick”) Rodseth, commemorates the
memory of Rodseth, who loved the Race to Mackinac and participated in 51 Mac
races with his boats: Bangalor and several named Vagary. The names of sailors
qualifying for inclusion are added to the perpetual trophy for the annual
meeting of the Island Goats Sailing Society (IGSS).

The
IGSS was formed in 1959 to honor sailors who have competed in 25 or more Mac
Races. Its name represents the goats that live on Mackinac Island and the result
of the two to four day race, after which sailors arrive on the island –
smelling like goats.

Added
bonus…We are working with Chicago’s top chefs and we will have food stations at
the Chicago Yacht Club featuring creative menus – What would you serve our
yachtmen who have been in 50+ Mac Races…The race runs for several days and the
menus will be quite creative. Our guests will be the judges…the winner will
receive a gift certificate offering a room for 2 for a 4 nights stay on
Mackinac Island at one of the top Historic Hotels of America –    The Island House Hotel.

I Inspire’s mission is to inspire
college students, professionals and entrepreneurs to greater achievement. Its
initial issue, planned for publication in August 2014 will feature profiles of
Chicagoans recognized for their leadership in business and culture, sharing the
unique experiences that led them to be successful. By seeing what success means
to them, what they overcame and what inspired them, we can learn and encourage
our audience’s aspirations.

Mackinac
