Mysterious Water Balloon Assailant Reportedly Strikes Big Star

A drive-by water balloon thrower targeted Big Star in Wicker Park over the weekend, leaving many question marks in his or her wake.

A mysterious water balloon wielder threw a filled balloon Sunday at Wicker Park's popular taqueria, Big Star, sources say, but details about the incident remain scant.

According to Eater Chicago, the water balloon knocked down one of the patio area's string of lights, which hit an unidentified Big Star customer and led to a call to the paramedics. The eatery is located just south of the Damen Avenue Blue Line stop.

The undaunted woman did not let the attack interrupt her meal—perhaps it was the famed Sonoran hot dog or a taco de papas con rajas—and reportedly declined to visit the hospital. The restaurant patio's lights were off for the rest of the night.
